⚡ Quick Answer: How to Use a Printable Ring Size Chart

Download the PDF. Print at exactly 100% scale (not ‘Fit to page’). Verify scale with the printed ruler. Then either: (a) place an existing ring over the circles until the inner edge aligns, or (b) cut out the paper strip and wrap around your finger. If between sizes, always choose the larger.

⚠️ Critical: Print at Exactly 100% Scale

A printable ring size chart is ONLY accurate when printed at 100% scale. Most PDF viewers default to ‘Fit to page’ which scales circles down and makes all sizes read incorrectly.

Before printing: Go to Print → set Page Scaling to ‘None’ or ‘Actual size’ — NOT ‘Fit to page’. After printing, hold a real ruler against the printed ruler on the chart to verify they match exactly.

1. Two Ways to Use the Printable Chart

Method A: Measure an Existing Ring (Circle Method)

  1. Place the ring flat on the printed chart.
  2. Slide it over circles until the ring’s inner edge aligns with a circle’s printed edge.
  3. The number inside that circle is your ring’s US size.
  4. Read across for UK, EU, and mm equivalents.

Method B: Measure Your Finger (Strip Method)

  1. Cut out the paper strip printed on the chart.
  2. Wrap around the base of your target finger in the evening.
  3. Thread the pointed end through the slot (or hold at the mark).
  4. Read the size number at the alignment point.

4. Frequently Asked Questions

Why does my printable chart not match my actual ring?
Almost certainly incorrect print scale. If ‘Fit to page’ was selected, circles will be smaller than real-world diameter. Reprint with Page Scaling set to ‘None’ or ‘Actual size’ and verify with a physical ruler.
Can I use a printable chart on my phone screen?
Only if your screen displays at exactly 1:1 pixel-to-mm ratio, which varies by device. A printed chart at verified 100% scale is significantly more reliable.
How accurate is a printable ring size chart?
Correctly printed (100% scale, verified): accurate to within 0.5–1 ring size with the circle method, and within 0.5 sizes with the strip method. For non-resizable rings, verify with a plastic gauge set or professional jeweller.
What paper size should I use?
US Letter (8.5 × 11 inches) or A4 (210 × 297mm) both work. The chart fits either format at 100% scale. The printed ruler on the chart confirms correct scale regardless of paper size.
