Pinky Ring Size Chart: Sizes in MM, Inches, US, UK & EU
A pinky ring size chart converts your little finger measurement into a ring size. Pinky rings use the same US, UK and EU sizes as any other ring, but the little finger is usually narrower than the ring finger, so you will normally need a smaller size. Use the chart below to find your size, then read the fit tips for women’s and men’s pinky rings.
How Pinky Rings Are Sized
A pinky ring is simply a ring worn on the little finger. It is sized exactly like any other ring: by the inside diameter or circumference of the band. The ISO 8653 standard defines ring size by inside circumference in millimetres; see the ring size overview for background.
The little finger is narrower than the ring finger, so pinky rings tend to sit toward the smaller end of the scale. How much smaller varies from person to person, and your left and right pinky can differ too, which is why measuring the finger itself is more reliable than guessing from your usual size.

Inner diameter is the width across the inside of the band. Inner circumference is the distance around it. Highlighted rows are common reference points.

Women’s Pinky Ring Sizes
Many women find their pinky ring falls somewhere between about US 3 and US 6, though hands differ. See also the women’s ring size chart.

Men’s Pinky Ring Sizes
Many men choose a pinky ring between about US 5 and US 9, often in a signet or band style. Heavier or flat-top designs can feel snugger, so consider a quarter to half size up if you are between sizes. See also the men’s ring size chart and our signet ring size chart.

Pinky vs Ring Finger: How Much Smaller?
Many people find the pinky is about one to three sizes smaller than the ring finger, but this is a rough guide only. Measure the pinky directly, and check the seller’s size notes and return policy, because band width and shape differ by maker.
| Finger | How it compares | Fit tip |
|---|---|---|
| Pinky | Usually the smallest size, often one to three sizes under the ring finger | Measure the pinky itself; your two hands can differ |
| Ring finger | Your usual ring size | Use as a rough reference only |
| Index finger | Often about one size larger than the ring finger | Measure it separately, since hands vary |
How to Measure Pinky Ring Size in MM and Inches
Millimetres are the most accurate unit. Convert to inches by dividing by 25.4. Our how to measure your ring size guide and the ring size calculator cover more methods.
Measure an Existing Ring
- Choose a ring that fits the same finger comfortably.
- Lay it flat and measure the inside width at its widest point, in mm.
- Find the nearest value in the “Inner diameter (mm)” column.
- Multiply the diameter by 3.1416 to check the circumference.
Measure Finger Circumference with a Paper Strip
- Cut a strip of paper about 10 mm wide and 150 mm long.
- Wrap it around the base of the little finger and mark where it overlaps.
- Lay the strip flat and measure from the end to the mark in mm.
- Match the result to the “Inner circumference (mm)” column. Use string or a tape measure the same way.
How to Choose the Right Pinky Ring Size
- Measure the pinky itself. Do not simply subtract from your ring-finger size.
- Use millimetres. Compare your circumference with the chart and the seller’s size notes.
- Check the band width. Wide bands feel tighter; go up a quarter to a half size if between sizes.
- Check the knuckle. The ring must pass over it and still sit snugly.
- Test the fit. It should turn with slight effort and not slip off when your hand is relaxed.
Can Pinky Rings Be Resized?
Often, but ask a jeweller before you buy or alter one. Engraving, hallmarks and inset stones can limit resizing, and very thin bands can be harder to adjust. Related guides: US ring size chart, UK ring size chart and ring size conversion chart.
Pinky Ring Size FAQs
What is the average pinky ring size?
There is no single standard, because hands vary. Many women wear a pinky ring somewhere around US 3 to 6 and many men around US 5 to 9, but the only reliable answer is to measure your own little finger and match it to the chart on this page.
How much smaller is a pinky than a ring finger?
Often about one to three sizes smaller, though this differs from person to person and even between your left and right hand. Measure the pinky itself rather than subtracting from your ring-finger size.
What size pinky ring do I need for a man?
Men commonly choose a pinky ring between about US 5 and US 9. Heavy signet or flat-top styles can feel tighter, so many people go up a quarter to a half size. Measure first and check the seller’s size notes.
What size pinky ring do I need for a woman?
Many women find a pinky ring falls between about US 3 and US 6. Use a paper strip or string to measure the base of your little finger in millimetres and read the matching size from the chart.
How do I measure my pinky ring size at home?
Wrap a thin strip of paper around the base of your little finger, mark the overlap and measure the length in millimetres. Match that circumference to the chart. You can also measure the inside diameter of a ring that already fits that finger.
Which hand and finger is a pinky ring traditionally worn on?
Traditionally on the little finger of the non-dominant hand, though many people wear pinky rings on either hand today. Fingers can differ slightly between hands, so measure the one you will wear it on.
Should I size up for a wide pinky ring?
Often a little. A wide band covers more of the finger and tends to feel tighter than a thin band of the same size. If you are between sizes, many people go up a quarter to a half size. A jeweller or the seller can confirm.
Can a pinky ring be resized?
Often it can, but a jeweller has to check first. Engraving, hallmarks, inset stones and very thin or very thick shanks can limit how much a ring can be resized. Very small sizes can also be harder to find in stock, so getting the size right first is worthwhile.
